Climate Benchmarks Regulation
This Regulation amends the EU Benchmarks Regulation (EU 2016/1011) to establish a regulatory framework for EU Climate Transition Benchmarks (EU CTB) and EU Paris-aligned Benchmarks (EU PAB), together with sustainability-related disclosure requirements for benchmarks. By introducing minimum standards, clear labelling requirements and methodological transparency, this Regulation ensures the quality and integrity of low-carbon benchmarks and prevents greenwashing, in order to channel capital in the EU internal market towards sustainable investment and to support the global objective of limiting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
