MiCA RTS: Environmental Disclosure Standards
This Regulation supplements Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 on markets in crypto-assets by laying down regulatory technical standards that specify the content, methodologies and presentation of the climate and other environment-related sustainability indicators to be disclosed in crypto-asset white papers and on the websites of crypto-asset service providers. It applies to all crypto-asset transactions validated through a consensus mechanism, with particular attention to the adverse impacts of consensus mechanisms on the climate and the environment, so that investors receive accurate, fair, concise and comparable information, thereby encouraging the adoption of climate-friendly consensus mechanisms and preventing greenwashing.
